- While on her third extensive tour of the United States of the year, the apparently tireless Laura Marling found time to not only have a custom resonator ukulele made for her, but to also write a song on it to promote her model. Appropriately titled “Not Done Traveling”, the song is about wearily traveling from coast to coast, so it’s probably about Marling’s travels this year. Watch a video of her playing the song below:
- Along with Corin Tucker’s latest politically-charged LP, this fall is looking to be pretty good for fans of the riot grrrl movement’s pioneers, as Bikini Kill prepares to launch a reissue campaign next month. Kathleen Hanna and company will reissue the debut Bikini Kill EP on November 20th, which will include a new fanzine containing liner notes, pages from the original BK ‘zines and an interview with Ian MacKaye. - The short-lived Seattle supergroup Mad Season, comprised of Mike McCready, Layne Staley, John Baker Saunders, and Barrett Martin, only released one album, but eighteen years after its release, it’s getting the reissue treatment. Martin and McCready (the only two living members) oversaw the remastering of 1995′s Above, which will include a DVD of a concert at the Moore and assorted other tracks. - Because Damon Albarn can never make up his mind about anything, Britpop icons Blur once again have plans to play music together. The band announced this morning that they’ll headline the Belgian Rock Werchter festival next July, with “hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while.” Some band members proposed that new music from the iconic outfit is still possible in the wake of their Olympics-related gigs, but for the moment (or until Albarn changes his mind), Blur fans will take another show in Belgium.

Perfume Genius’ Mike Hadreas has released the video for “Take Me Home” off his new album Put Your Back N 2 It featuring a lonely looking Hadreas adorned in a football jersey and heels wandering around an industrial district. Check out the video below:
- Fresh off a new album (complete with highly NSFW album art) and a lot of controversy with their label and the internet in general, experimental rap group Death Grips have announced their first string of shows since canceling their entire last tour in order to work on the album. Although there are currently no west coast dates, Death Grips will also be performing along with Flying Lotus at the NPR/WNYC CMJ Showcase on October 17.
